I’m not a fan of the new Civic but the Philippines exclusive RS Turbo Modulo is really nice. Only 173hp though.

It’s a CVT—EEARGHREARRGHERRRRRRAAAARRRGEERRERRGGGHAAA—but otherwise it’s brlliant. Interior’s great, handles solidly or so says the bloke who wrote it... I can dig it.

But for such a name and that price tag it should have at least 200hp. Who am I kidding though, I’ve never driven a cars with more than 150hp.

Hard to measure a car by its horsepower. All nonsense anyway. Gearing, weight, characteristics make the power figures meaningless. Ive driven 100hp cars that are pretty spritely and 150hp cars that felt slow as balls.

Can confirm. A BMW 316i with 100hp feels faster than a 115hp Golf Plus.

I own a 316 and therefore support this message. In all seriousness though my compact feels quicker than our 140hp mondeo (it definitely isnt though).

BMWs with ‘small’ 4 cylinders are unloved but actually nice to drive. I had a 118d as a driver’s ed car and it was plenty quick for a diesel and handled great.

I do like the trim...the US one has too much chrome.
